I did it for a short time for Professors at Bowmen Gray School Of Medicine. The doctors were great, but I just didn't enjoy that type of work. I know a lot of people who love it and do it our of there homes. So I guess it is up to te individual. I like communicating with the public too much.

Do you mind asking your friends who do mt what school they signed up with and what companies hire mt? I could take it or leave it when it comes to communicting with people but I really would love to work at home.

Cathie, I have taken the medical terminology course and loved it. I had lots of sites that helped me out with some of the terms. But the computer I did it on, is out of order and no way to get the info off of it. rat!!

I'm not a medical transcriptionist. However, I'm very interested to be one. I'm actually planning to enroll in a vocational course related to it in the coming months. It's all because my major in college is not sufficient for me to enter the world or medical people. My major is about politics though. Anyway, I really find it very interesting because I have a lot of friends who venture out in that kind of business. And they're really doing good. They're even receiving higher salaries than I have now. Such job is merely dependable on the hearing capacities of the person. And I think, I should focus more on listening in entering this field.

I almost signed up for one of those online courses for mt. There are so many online programs that promise if you take their course they will help you find a job afterwards. Without knowing anyone in that field I just didnt believe all the hype about setting your own hours/money in that field. I think about it all the time though, wondering if I made the right decision.

My mother works as one. She used to work for this doctor in Pennsylvania. Then she moved to Florida. They didn't want to lose her. The doctor really liked /likes her. So they installed software on their computers. And now she works from home. Long distance. Works really well. Are you looking to work at home or in a med office. Apparently with Med tran, the possibilities are open.
