Thought I'd let you all know that I'm going to be a grandma again in four weeks - at the end of April. We have two grandchildren already from our daughter who lives in Florida (we live in Australia), but we have missed out on seeing them grow up. However, this new arrival is our son's, and he lives just down the road from us, so it's like having our first grandchild again! This one is going to get spoilt rotten!
Any other grandma's out there who I can compare notes with? I need to brush up on all the baby stuff!

Oh that is wonderful Abbey, I bet you are so happy it must be dradful when your daughter lives so far away with your other grandchildren, and so I bet that this little one to be born in April, will be spoilt and I can understand it would be just like having your first grandchild due to the others being so far away from you. Yes I am a grandmother of two little boys one is 2 years old and the other was born in January, and the next one will be born in June. So if you need to know anything you are always welcome to drop me a line so I can help you.

Thanks Kathy. Yes, we sadly missed out on seeing our other two grandchildren growing up; they are 9 and 12 now, and we speak to them on the web cam, but it's not the same. It's been seven years since we saw them but we are planning to go over to Florida this year, so we'll have a big re-union!
This is like having our first grandchild all over again, and we are ecstatic! I am out of touch with babies now, so I'll have to brush up I guess - things have changed a lot since I had my last one (he is 27 now)! You are an experienced grandma now, so I may be calling on you for advice one of these days!

Thankyou for your congratulations shila. You have a way to go yet before you become a grandmother! You are right, being a mother is so very special, and then becoming a grandmother is like the icing on the cake! We are so excited, and only four weeks to go to the birth. You sound very nice - your baby is very lucky having you as a mother. Enjoy your baby - they grow up too fast!

Congratulations in advance, Abbey. Hope everything will be smooth sail for the mother and baby. I can understand how excited you will be. Infact, can feel your excitement through this posting. Why do you need to brush up on all the baby stuff? Are you taking care og your grandchild. Understand that bringing up children nowadays is so much different from when our parents brought us up. Good luck to you for all the preparation. Please do not forget to share the joy with us later. Once again, congratulations.

Thanks Aidah for your congratulations! So far mother and baby have been fine, so we're hoping the birth will be the same. I need to brush up on baby stuff because things have changed since I had my last child (he is 27 now). New rules and regulations about travelling in a car with a baby, etc. We have to bring ourselves up to date. My daughter-in-law will be returning to work after a couple of months, and our son works different shifts, so guess who will be stepping in to mind the baby?
Don't worry, I will let you all know when the baby is born!
