Blog is a slang term for Weblog, or Web Log, literally a diary-type site one keeps on the web. Go to http://www.blogspot.com , for example, and set one up. All one does in a blog is writes about their day to day life, as they would in a diary, only instead of it being a private document, it's out there on line for everyone to read.

A blog is short for web blog or weblog. It's akin to an online journal or online diary. If you want to share your thoughts with the rest of the world, a blog is the most efficient way to do it. There are tons of free blog spaces in the web right now --- Livejournal, Blogger, Typepad, Wordpress etc. Some of them even provide money per post. Choose which blog service you like the most, sign up and you're good to go. There are easy steps to follow for you to publish your first post. Be careful with sharing personal information, though! The last three respondents had it correct. A blog is a web diary. There are many different sites you can use to set up a blog. I use Tripod, but it doesn't pay anything, but there are other sites that do. If you have something you want to write about on a regular basis, you might want to consider a blog.
