What happend to Martin Lopez?

Since I'm a great fan of opeth, especially of the drummer Martin Lopez, it's been a huge shock, as I hear he left the band few months ago. I'm wondering, whether he's well again and maybe working on a solo thing or joined another band. Does anybody know any news about Martin Lopez? If he would be well again, do you guys think, he should rejoin opeth again? Well, ... I miss him and his drumming even the new drummer has great skills as well. Let me know, what you think about it.

I think in time he will be back. I think he just needed a break. Even if it's for 5 years. :-)

Hope you're right. I just hope, he will be able to play music at all. I've no clue how serious his problems are.

I believe he's taken some time off from the music world. As said officially by the band it was forced due to his condition. He's an unique drummer, but from what I can hear from Axenrot so far, he definitly fills in for his shoes.
