What do YOUR children do in the summer?

Now that school will be out soon, all the summer activity sign up sheets are coming home with our kids. We have literally been studying all the options for our kids and I have to say - it can get really confusing! We have decided to go with swimming lessons (that we knew for sure), summer day camp, and soccer. We're still debating Y-Camp for our oldest since he's been begging, but after seeing the prices, I'm not too sure! 1. Do you enroll your kids in any summer activities? 2. What do you sign them up for?

I try not to sign my kids up for too many activities in the summer. They are so overloaded with responsibilities during the school year that I feel like they need to have some time to just be kids. There is no other time in their lives that they will have the chance to be responsibility free. I do have them attend swimming lessons and bible school because they enjoy both activities. Other than that, we fly by the seat of our pants.

I agree with letting them be kids. The only reason they're being signed up this year is because they've been begging to do it. I'm just glad they want to do these types of things instead of watching television all the time. A great way for them to get out and get some fresh air and release some physical energy.

That is great that you are keeping them busy. My kids are already busy just because I run a daycare and have activities going on all the time.

My kids take the summer off from all activities. WE have a pool at our house and they enjoy hanging out here with the family and having their friends over. We like our summers to be very relaxed with no activities to plan around.

That would make life so much easier to have a pool at home! I would love that. Maybe then our kids wouldn't be begging to join so many things. This is the first year, so we'll see how they like being in everything.
