What do you all think? Is 40 the new 30, since older women are supposedly more "wise" and know what they want and how to get it?

Why do you think it's unfortunate? It does seem to me that people of all ages seem 10 or even 20 years younger. My mother cycles with a group of people in their late 60s and 70s and they're in amazing shape. They go on an intense 5 hour trip once a week and a 3 day overnight trip once a month. I think it's fantastic that they're healthy and enjoying their retirement so much.

Yes, there seems to be a craze to not look one's age. I admit, I'm trying to get healthier and look younger, too. I think there's just something that goes off in your head when you get older and you just decide you don't want to look any older. I don't know. Thoughts?

Thanks for your response! Avoiding the sun is important. Several members of my family have had forms of skin cancer.

I would not necessarily say that, as there are a lot of Women who are 30 and I would call wise, and know what they want, and making a Good living. 40 just means Maturity, and realizing they need to be set in their ways by now in life, and usually are at the job they really want to be doing, and will devote their time and career with it.

At the age 40 they are new to every thing and more 'wise'. As you said they know more about getting things in their way without making unnecessary commitments. At this profession they can take care you(rs) also.

I have no idea as I am not quite 30. My mom said that her 30's were her best years and since I am 29, I am hoping they are mine too. If 40 is the new 30 that is fine too, just gives me something to look forward to. I want to feel young as long as I can!
