Looking for writer's advice

I am with a few freelance companies, and lately, it seems that all the jobs are grouped works of 10-25 articles on a specified topic. However, the time frame permitted is between 1 and 2 days to submit the work. Each article is 300-500 words. Any accomplished writers out there have any advice how to make this timeframe work... (for those of us who have regular jobs as well) Thanks!

try voice recognition software. I have found it speeds up the whole process and cuts the time down by about a third.

The only thing I can say is get yourself a tape recorder with a microphone and make sure it plays back well enough that you can understand yourself speaking. Use this to start your articles and amass ideas for the subject / subjects that you are writing about. Start out speaking slowly and try to have some basic ideas about how you want your article to work and then start talking. Talk yourself through each article or idea and you might have better luck with your time crunch. I also have a regular job, so I know about the struggles. I have found that this is the only way that I have been able to submit more than 5 articles a day.

that is a real predicament. one can't devote full time yet to writing. yet, the companies want full-time results from you/us. maybe if the subject was in your area of expertise, then it would be practical to write an article in short time frame. writing for a daily newspaper has trained me for quick deadlines, but it doesn't help me if I don't know the subject matter a head of time.

I understand what you are saying. The company I am with usually assigns 35-50 articles due within 7 days. For the most part I am able to keep up, but it has been a challenge. I have had enough work now from one company that I am able to pick my topics for the most part and that is very helpful. If I am writing about something I know about it is much much quicker to turn them around.
