Some of my friends like to borrow my books. I don't have any problem with that. But everytime they do so, they forget to return it. I have to shamelessly go up to them and ask my book back. I feel a little embarassed every time I do so. I don't also know how to say 'no' to their face when they ask for a book, sometimes just for a day or two. Please help.

Don't be embarassed to ask for your books back, they are your property so you are entitled to do this, It is a weird thing but lots of people borrow books with no intention at all of giving them back, ever, which is why you find yourself having to ask for their return. If you didn't then believe me you actually wouldn't see them again. Lots of people actually don't see this as wrong as they think if you have read the book once you won't want to read it again. Strange but true. I have learned this the hard way, so don't be embarrased as this is actually the only way to ensure that you do get your books back - if you don't believe this then try not asking and I promise that book will never get back to you. (don't try this with a favourite but only one you don't mind kissing a permanent goodbye to).

Thanks for your response.
You are absolutely right. I am very possessive about my books and if I don't get them back in time, then I start feeling anger towards the person who took the book. Also, I have no idea how to deal with or react to people who tear or fold pages and then cover the book in a nice shiny wrapper just to hide what they did.

Just ignore them next time these people approach to you for books or anyother help. Why can't females be straight and speak truth on face like we guys do. We are called rude but we make clear what we want in our life or things happening around us. Arey just say "NO" I have to go through the book . May be next time around.
