About being a freelance writer, what sort of qualifications are there?
Does a high schooler have as much of a chance making it as someone with a Bachelor's in Comparative Literature?
Is it necessary to find a niche and stick there?
Is it rare to be a freelancer full time and make enough to not work a day job?

Hi and thanks for your questions. There are no requirements at all, just that you enjoy to write and you write well. Someone with a high school education would be just as successful as one with their Master's. There is definitely enough money involved to make it your full time job. You can take on as much of a workload as you can handle while still submitting quality work and meeting the deadlines. There are many freelance sites out there looking for writers for various projects. If the topic does not interest you, don't take that job! I wish you the best!

There are numerous sites available that contract freelancers. Try GetAFreelancer.com They have a lot of opportunities, if you win the bid for the project

I have been freelance writing for about 3 months now. I currently work for two companies doing web content articles. I roughly make $200 per week, which isn't a lot but it will make a house payment.
I honestly don't remember what site I went through to hook up with the companies I am with now. I was looking everywhere initially and I just remember emailing about an opportunity and the rest is history. I have steady work every week and a paycheck I can depend on. She needs more people that I know. If you are a good writer I could recommend you, once I see a sample.
The requirements are 35-50 350-400 word articles in 5-7 days and it pays between $3.75-$4.50 per article. Not much, but for me just starting out, having a steady paycheck is much more important to me than winning one job every few months for a few hundred dollars, ya know what I mean??
Check these sites out too. I am not sure about all of them, and personally I wouldnt pay anything to get work, in my opinion that is a scam. I didnt pay a dime for the work I got.
