how long did it take to potty train you child

My 3 child was so hard to train. We got the kitchen timer and made a game out of it. Set it for every 15 min. When It dinged he evanally jumped up and stated running to the bathroom. After about 2wks of this he got it on his own and we didnt need the timer anymore.
