Some 2 million rural students and teachers stand to benefit from the Premier Rural Education Quantum Leap Programme which was anounced by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
Among the measures under the programme are :
- Additional RM2.6billion allocated under the 9th Malaysia Plan to narrow the standard between urban and rural schools
- Food allocation for 280,000 students
- allowances of between RM500 and RM1,500 for teachers
- Allowances and insurance return home once a year for teachers from peninsular Malaysia stationed in Sabah and Sarawak and vice versa
- Computer labs for 400 more schools
- Web television for teleconferencing in 5,869 schools
- Satellite phones and wireless fax for 200 schools
- Additional 480 vocational workshops
Despite all the actions to be taken to boost up the standard of rural schools, but i still feel that the disparity or the gap between rural and urban schools are still visible. Would you feel the same way as i feel?

I am agree with the qouniq as the Malaysian goverment is investing too much on the Students but the results of the Malaysian students is still very poor. Every thing has been sponsored by the government but students are unable to come up with any extraordinary results. And some more Malaysian students should have to appreciate the subsides has been provided by the government. If such type of facilities been provided would be available to any other countries students than you could see the difference in only a number of years.

this is a good thing to the peoples of malaysia. the only thing is that are the malaysia student know how to appreciate the thing which been done by the government for them?! What i find lately, the more government invest on the education field the more student came out with the unpleasant result. The number of failed student increase and this makes the government take another action again. The allowance to the teacher -allowances of between RM500 and RM1,500 for teachers for me is not a good decision as, i know some of the teacher in my hometown only look for the allowance and did not teach the student seriously.
