I have recently taken up a new hobby with my son, and it is birdwatching. I never realized how interesting this sort of thing could be... from the variety of species to the changes in their plummage, etc. We live by a great lake so we enjoy the migrations of birds in the spring and fall.

My grandfather introduced me to nature via this very exciting sport--I found while doing this I also became more in touch with my connection to lower insignificant creatures while at the same time felt part of something so much bigger ! It was and is a great way to enjoy life slowly and really appreciate what is around us.
Great post and have a fabulous holiday !
