MP3 plays why can't they get it right

over a year i went through 8 mp3 players. the quility that they build them is just incredibly poor. i understand they some times last for awhile if you don't touch them but i carry mine in my pocket where your suppose to and appearntly they don't like that. one mp3 palyer i got (the RCA Lyra) froze the first time i turned it on. i took it back adn got a knew one of the same type and hte same thing happend. thoughts or expereince with MP3 Players?
