Why is family guy so popular with older viewers?

I am 22 years old and I watch family guy. I normally don't watch cartoons but I seem to watch family guy alot. I don't know why I like it so much. How old are you people that watch family guy?

I think Family Guy's humor just wouldnt be picked up by younger viewers, it also has political jokes underneath it all that younger viewers wouldnt pick up or understand. That and the fact...its just plain hillarious!

Hi I'm 36 and i have seen every family guy episode, i just cant get enough of it. I think it appeals to older audiences because of the adult humor and where else can you see a fat man fight a giant chicken (hilarious). I personally like the episodes with stewie and Brian like The Road To Road Island where they copy songs from other films. I also like American Dad which like Family Guy was created by Seth Macfarlane.

Well I think its becaue the main concept of the show is more about the reality which adults cna handle. Even the simpsons are more appreciated by olders than by younger ones and also the king of the hill, because of its satirical way of portraying the everyday life of humans older people seems to like it more than by youngsters that only wnat fun and funny non sense violence.

Both me and my husband are 30 and we watch it every Sunday and catch most of the reruns. I love that show. Freakin' hilarious. I'm so glad they brought it back to Fox. We also watch the Simpsons pretty much every day with our kids (they don't watch Family Guy, though) and we love Futurama, too.

my husband and i are 25 and we watch it. it is a cartoon geared more towards adults. most episodes i would say aren't appropriate for children because of the content. simpsons is another good cartoon that seems to be more for adults than kids.

Well, I don't think family guy is for kids. It should not be shown to kids but I really enjoy watching all those adult cartoons especially family guy. Their spoofs and goodiness makes me want to watch another episode. They usually have something unique in each episode. They never fail to make me laugh.

Well, honestly, Family Guy is intended for older viewers. Yes, it's a cartoon, but when was the last time you saw Loony Toons or a Mickey Mouse cartoon with a viewer discretion advisory? It's in the same vein as The Simpsons or South Park in that it's a cartoon for adults. So there's nothing wrong with you liking it! :D
For the record, I'm 27 and a HUGE fan.

I'm 23, but I've always been a cartoon nut, so it's not just exclusive to Family Guy. :)
I think it's because the older you are the more subtleties you get when you watch the show. :)
