how important is keeping the family name going?

I'm an only child, and though I have cousins that have boys I feel sad for my father because our leg of the Hansen name will end with me becuase my wife cannot concieve anymore. My dad's brothers my uncles hav sons and their sons have sons but I'll never have a son I can call my own and my father will never have a grandson that came from me. It's kinda eerie know our leg of the Hansen name will end with me when I die. I'd like to father a son and keep it going but it doesn't seem to be a possibility anymore, how would you feel in my situation?
