Recently my son, a teenage student, ask me to download some classic music from internet, for he is interested in drawing the pictures of those renowned composers, like Beethoven,Bach etc.and also their music. He can even sing the tune like a music fan. But most of his classmates like popular music and songs, for they are easily remembered and good to hearing. Seldom of them like listening to classic music like my son. What about kids in your country? What kind of music do they prefer, popular or classic?

Actually a couple of my neices and my own son enjoy classical music...Both my kids love all sorts of music and very little of it is the popular Top 40 so to speak...My daughter LOVES classic rock and motown as well as a little bit of old school blues and goth and disco...and my son LOVES old school punk, motown, classical and disco....Both my kids do listen to some new stuff but they prefer the older music...

I think both types of music are worth listening to. I personally think classical music has more long-term potential for the obvious reasons.

Man that is wonderful that your son likes to listen to classical music. That is so good for him, it's relaxing and helps his mind! I'm so happy for you that he is into the classical music. Keep playing it for him and let his love for the music grow. All the kids in my neighborhood listen to rap music. The kids in our church listen to christian music which I think is great and wonderful.

I love music and when I can I always listen to my favourite kinds of music. In this moment, for instance, I'm listening to a piano song by Mozart.
I like both, popular and classic music. When I was young I listened to Punk music, I loved it, but now I listen to many kinds of music: classic music, jazz, blues, rap, punk....

Most kids like popular music but if your son likes Classical please let him embrace it. I have heard that classical musical can help boost scores. From what I have seen through my job, most of the students that have high ACT or SAT scores do venture outside of the norm so this could prove to be great.

I think most of the country are the same, less kids prefer classic than pop. Me myself, I like both respectably. Remember, more people like popular doesnt mean that it's better than classic, i'd say is just a matter of preference, just like which color you like blue? green? red? all are good. Dont know how old is ur son, but if he's still young, it would be nice if you can direct him in the right direction. Like a piano lesson or violin or sumthing like that, he could be talented you know (finger crossed).
