Rosemary or tea tree is a good oil to add to a shampoo if you have dandruff.Tea tree is good for the skin in general if you have break outs or for cuts and such.Honey and lemon in tea is good for a sore throat. So is licorice extract(like the type used in most black licorice) or just chew some licorice root and swallow the juice. Be careful not to swallow the root though.St. John's Wort is a good one for depression, but should not be used for bipolar depression as it is a different animal entirely.Anyone who is bipolar should seek professional treatment but may find that there are certain treatments that are good a supplement.Massage therapy, light therapy, meditation and acupressure/accupuncture have been found to add to more traditional therapies.Caffiene sometimes works to help migraines, but it caused them in my mom so that's kind of an individual thing. For colds, plenty of rest and fluids works the best. I also like lots of baths to keep fevers down and horehound throat drops (with honey since they taste ucky otherwise) for the cough I always seem to get.

i think that alternative medicine really does help. specially to the people who cannot afford certaion medications, i also think that it is practical. however when using alternative medicine one must be careful and follow the right dosage, the right route and the right time un administering it. otherwise it will not be beneficial. if not used correctly it may lead to toxicity and other effects in the body.

prevention will always be better than cure.. so start by eating right, exercise, have a clear mind by observing good values to one self. and just be healthy in all aspects of life,. well, if a person already acquired the disease, a doctor's advise is good, and prevention of further complications should be the concern.
