Do you feel ashamed of wearing glasses or are you proud of them?

I've worn glasses since I was 5 and after 40 years one gets used to it. :-)
Seriously - I think they're great. I tried contact lenses soem years ago and because of a problem with teh amount of tears I produce (I don't make enough) I couldn't wear them without special eyedrops. So I basically said 'forget it - I'm obviously intended to be a glasses guy' and that's been my way since then.
I choose my glasses carefully so that they work for me; I'm happy to spend a little more money on frames to get them just the way I want them - I think I actually feel more confident wearing them....but that could be because I can actually see things before I walk in to them.
So....I love my specs. My eyesignt was perfect until I got measles at age 5, and so my glasses have restored to me the sight I should have had - and, I realise that I am SO lucky that I live in a time and place where such things are possible and affordable to me.
My glasses allow me to see the world as the beautiful place it is (mostly!!) and I am thankful for that. So, glasses are GOOD!!

Since I had always wanted to wear glasses, I was excited when I found out I needed them, so, no, I was never ashamed of them. However, because I was a pretty shy person I was a little embarrassed and self conscious when I first got them, since they brought unwanted attention to me, but at the same time I was very happy to be wearing them and was determined to get over those feelings and in only a few weeks I was pretty comfortable wearing glasses. I have now been a proud wearer of glasses for over 30 years and actually love wearing them!

I do not like glasses. I was told I needed glasses and I said no contacts. they said for what my eyes needed it would be hard to do. I said well you want my money or not.. if so get me some contacts.. Lol. my husband had to start wearing them and he looks so different in them. he looks good in singlasses but not his glasses. they get in the way when we try to kiss. i guess it is something you how to work at...

Glasses are the only way i can see the world and i have been wearing them for about 6 years now. I have tried wearing lenses but all in vain. But now i cant imagine a life without my glasses. I have never felt ashamed about this and instead, i have always felt proud.

I don't feel ashamed at all, why would i? There's nothing to be embarrasses about having bad eyesight and needing to wear glasses to correct it. I'd be more embarassed if i didn't wear them and as a concequence started bumping into everything! I'm neither ahsamed nor proud, glasses to me are simply a way of correcting my vision.
