If you are a citizen of a country by birth you would have respect and emotional attachment to your nation. But you also can be a citizen by domicile. By living in that country for 3 or 5 years do you think one would have respect and patriotism to the country ? I feel unless the person really respects and loves the country citizenship should not be granted based only on the tenure of residence. Even as an individual one should not apply for the citizenship unless he/she respects and loves the country. (This is purely my personal opinion and not a verdict!!. I might be wrong in saying so, please tell me logically why I am wrong if you feel so)

Right. It is improper to grant citizenship based on the years they reside in that country. Though I was born in UK somehow I liked India and today I am proud to hold an Indian Passport rather than British Passport. It does not mean that i hate british, but I have more love towards India than UK. I feel its our concious that we have to answer than the jury who conducts citizenship application reviews.

Thanks for the response. Its nice to know that you have respected both the nations by doing that. When you do not have that patriotic feeling to the country you should not be the citizen of that country. (Again it is my personal opinion only, No offenses)
