When i was in my student life, i was so much studious and having a strong feeling of competition. i was never able to tolerate anyone better than me in my school or in my coaching. whenever i used to get lesser marks than the topper, i used to get so much upset that i used to study for whole nights and in next session i get best rank. i think i was addicted of competition and to be the best.
what about you guys? post your replies on the topic.
thanks & regards

I feel the same as well. You can call me an addic to be the best. It's just that it feels good to be on top all the time, it's like every sleepless night is paying off. I can say that im competitive, but I also prefer to help people. I tell them that they can also achieve what I have achieved if they'll just work hard. My parents dont really pressure me, I think its my issue within myself. But as long as Im not hurting anybody i'll always try to be the best. But sometimes there is nothing wrong for being number 2. :))

Well I had some similar thoughts. Ultimately it would only lead to more suffering. I thrive to do my very best.

Yes I am also addicted to be the best not only in student life but even today in office. Till middle school, the competetion was between a girl and me. In high school one boy was there who used to read for 12 to 14 hours daily. Whenever I asked him, he never accepted about this much of time. I used to spend 4-5 hours daily only. After Dipawali I used to start 4-5 hours daily study. This was sufficient for me for higher scorer. In colleage days the style changed. Study changed in notes.I also used to spend some time with classmate to recall the learnings. Such discussions imprints on our brain directly, this is my experience. But classmate should be also of same level otherwise.... In office too I do not love someone supercede me. It has different taste in to be the best.

Well I had the same feeling... I felt competition and I wanted to win... but his was ruining my life. I finished my master degree studies two years ago and now I think it was bad, it made me live in a bad way... there were a lot of feeling I should have felt but I ocmpletely ignore them... I had very little friendship with other guys.

thats very right!!!
just focusing on one thing keeps us away from others.
thank to god that i left that addiction at least after my school and i enjoyed my life fully in college.
but hey, don't blame past....there is always something better. its not too late. you have enough more time for other things now...enjoy the life.
best wishes,
shalini

I believe that you had a very good attitude of competing and that inspired you to do better and better. I was not so addicted to be the best. However, I tried to remain in the first five students of the class and was quite successful in that.

yes it really helped to come forward but as you know addiction is always negative whether it is for good or for bad things.
anyways thankyou so much for your response.
