The Tallest man

Australia's tallest man was born and lived in Rutherglen. He was 7feet 11 inches tall ( 241 cm).http://www.tourisminternet.com.au/rutrose4.htm I can't seem t ofind though who is the tallest man in Australia now. I don't think the tend to talk about people being the talles tin their countries anymore because everyone is so international. But I do know that Britains tallest man was 6 ft 6 and now they found a new one who is 7 ft 7. I dont understand though how the guy suddenly became the tallest when he was 7 ft 7 and not before that.
