I've been using Windows Defender for a couple of months now, and have had no problems with it. It takes rather a long time to do a full scan, but other than that, I find it quite good. Has your own computer been slower since you installed it? Or just your hubby's?

My hubby's computer is slower than mine is. I have noticed that the full system scan takes about 2 hours to complete. I usually start it and then take the kids out for a walk. My machine seems ok with it. Thanks for your response!

The hard drive is too small, or it is dial up. I used to have that problem because of that. Now I have a bigger hard drive and I am on high speed, so there isn't a problem.

I am using it, yeah it makes pc slows down but not so much, whats your computer configuration, are you running on 128/256 RAM? well 256 is enough for it.. and yeah it will really help you whenever some spy come to computer specially when you are using Internet explorer this defender surely defend you.. as in IE automatically some toolbars getting installed and like that..

What was it for? If it had that negative effect on your computer then you should remove it from the system. Always be careful with third party softwares that offers system maintenance and the likes to your computers. Always go for the trusted sites.

It is from microsoft. It is for getting rid of spyware. My husband downloaded it to his computer first. It ran fine for a couple of days. Now it is really slow. He wouldn't use any software unless it came from microsoft. I don't know how new it is so I don't know if they have all the kinks out yet.

I think that could be one of the things messing with my computer..I guess I shouldve done proper research before I downloaded it..I don't even see where its working on my computer...
