I love the new look of Mylot but something I find very disturbing is the headlines section. All the news seems to be very bad...I believe Mylot should implement a sliding scale for those who don't care for all this bad news. Top of the scale would be "Horrific New" down through to "Completely Depressing", "Mildly Depresssing", "Not So Horrible", and finally "Nothing But Fluff" which would consist of stories about trapped kittens who were saved by a passing group of girl guides selling their cookies.
Let me know what you all think
*before someone gets off on a serious rant, this post is very tongue in cheek*

I will agree there is a lot of depressing news today. It was funny reading about the kind of news you would like to see now and I can't image what mylot moderators are going to think about the levels of news specially fluff. What one person would put in each area is different for each of us, as some of us want to see the latest news to discuss it. I really found your last sentence to be quite funny, as when a person starts reading its easy to want to start discussing the topic.

It's really hard to convey in words that you are nor being serious. Most of my discussion threads are just meant as little bits of humor (hopefully), but it's amazing how many people think I am being completely serious hence the disclaimer at the end....Thanks for reading the whole thing.

That is a very good ideal. I'd like to add NOMORE Hollywood news If I hear one more 'News" story about Ann Nichol Smith I will scream and the whole world will hear it.

Actually I'm not happy at all about all this news being on our profiles, I don't read papers and I try not to watch too much on tv and yet now it's here in front of me, what's that about. I don't want to discuss the news headlines thank you very much I come on here to ignore it. It doesn't mean I'm ignorant before someone says that, it just means I don't need it in my face. I guess that could change though if they actually put in some GOOD news for a change!! What's the chances of that eh??!!! Well thanks for letting me rant, I feel better ink, cheers!!

That was an awesome rant, I loved it...LOL. I actually toyed with the idea of deleting that from my home page but kept it as I have actually responded to a couple of the news stories....it's handy when theres nothing else to talk about

Well we really know it isn't mylot's fault as they cleary said in the alert that they get the news directly from the AP. So maybe we need to start a petition to the AP. (that's the associated press for those not in the US). Anywho, we should let them know that the people on mylot will not stand for depressing news. The AP should adjust it's format to fit our needs. We are 83,000 strong afterall.
By the way, there was a news piece on Paris possibly facing jail time. Now if that's not fluff, I don't know what is.

Yes, that's what I'm talking about...now if only her puppy Tinkerbell could be in some distress due to this new, it would really crank up the fluff factor.

ROFL! I needed a dose of inked humor this morning! Just our luck though, one of the passing girl scouts would be mauled by a local gang in search of cookies. The kitten would be rescued by a restaurant owner who would later be found to be using cat meat in his delicacies. You just can't win!
