Do you like John Mayer's new stuff or old stuff better?

I think most John Mayer fans would agree with me when I say that his music has changed quite a bit over the years. I have to say I prefer his music from around 2002 ('Room for Squares' and some of 'Heavier Things') to his bluesy, electric-guitar music now (from 'Try!' and 'Continuum').
Although I do still like his new music (I think Gravity and I Don't Trust Myself are awesome songs), I prefer his old songs such as Why Georgia, Your Body is a Wonderland, City Love, 83, No Such Thing, etc more. I guess I just appreciate that nice sort of music more to his new electric stuff.
But that's just my opinion :) What do you guys think??

I LOVED Rooms for Squares. It was such a definitive album for me back in high school, I cannot count the nights I listed to every single song over and over again and pored over the lyrics. Haha, but yeah, I really liked every single song there. :)
Heavier Things disappointed me though. I really did try getting into it, but none of the songs really appealed to me. :( Maybe one, or two, like Something's Missing, but I didn't like it nearly half as much as any of the songs on Room for Squares.
Continuum, on the other hand, was fortunately a really, really good album in my opinion. His sound changed, more bluesy I agree, but I really liked it. I have a couple of favorites from that album as well, but Room for Squares still stands out for me. Personal favorites from that album are Love Song for No One and Back to You and No Such Thing.
But another absolute favorite of mine is his song, Comfortable, actually. I'm not sure if it was released in an EP, but yeah, lovelove that song. :)

Ugh, I hate John Mayer's hair now. It makes him look like a caveman. But his music is still good, even though I still like his old stuff better!

I still like John Mayer's new stuff, but I far prefer his old music better. They were like.. driving around on a sunny day songs. You know? His new music is too slow for me, I think.

for me, i like the new john mayer. it is more mature in terms of the lyrics and the song. the sound are great. I also love his room for squares album but a little bit buble gum pop, i like heavire things too.
for me continuum is the best album he had so far.

I like heavier things the best out of all of his albums, my favorite song of his would have to be daughters.

I agree with you that I prefer John's older music. At the time, it was just so reassuring to know that there was still some good music being made. I really respect him for going on the make the music he really wanted to create, but he seems to have gone on to a different crowd completely.

yeah his old stuff are good.. its always a classic.. but his new stuff keeps me more relaxed with that blue's/jazz sound.. i guess it depends on people because i like jazz/blue beats.. and john mayer did that well for me.

This is such a hard decision. I would say I am a true John Mayer fan, meaning I like it all. I really admire that he is coming into his own and getting to put the type of music out there that he wants to make. I love his electric guitar work right now. But I still get all mushy listening to his accustic stuff. I'm really getting into "TRY!" the more I listen to it, but it all started when I heard "My Stupid Mouth" and "Victoria" and I will always love those!
