As I approach 15,000 I wonder why many of you who post a lot and are obviously great Mylotters and good friends dont get higher numbers. I am curious how you can be earning money with numbers below 1000 and being on Mylot for months. I seem to only earn from responses. So I don't post unless I see something that really gets me going. I really love this community and don't want to lose it. Thank you all for being here with me.

I really dont start to many discussions like i use to back months ago.It really has to be something i feel like sharing in order for me to start.I earn mainly from responding to disucssions as well.Users still earn with numbers below 1,000 to.They probably are not here as often and just come in every now and then.I know im not making pay out this month because i have not been here as often as i use to because i am working on other projects.Next month i will. You are right it is a wonderful community and i will continue to be a member even if im just coming to read a few post and dont respond to any.

Hi there msqtech, I am not earning anything to rave about but I have made payout for the second month in a row. I really just relax here, the mad money is nice, but I adore the banter back and forth with the friends that I have made. I have a few ventures online that I earn what I call ebay money, but when I am in mylot I am really just kicked back and if I make 10 bucks a month doing so I love it all the more!

I have noticed that when you post a comment to a response in your own discussion, it does not count toward your number total. I remember when I was trying to hit 500 and my number wasn't going up when I posted to my own discussions. I earned money for it, but no increase in total post counts.
Is that what you are talking about?

I seem to end up reaching payout every other month, but I think in my case, I do a lot more replying than starting discussions. If you go through some of Lewah's discussions, along with those of visitorinvasion, & maybe a few others, my responses do tend to be long & drawn out, probably sometimes to the point that you'll be asleep before finishing reading my response. There have been times that a response was so long that it would not post. There were other times that I had posted to a discussion when someone was online at the same time, & we just kept on replying to rach other also. Someone even wanted people to explain what makes people angry, & I also went into a long rant where I don't get mad, but I get even, & even told one of my big examples of just that.
I have posted somewhere where it was a long bashing of the RIAA, & that they are so poorly managed that it's really them that's causing the slump in music sales. On another discussion, I also ripped all over Georgie Bush Junior (I think I even called him President Shrubbery the Veggie.)
Anyway, it seems that it's not so much how many discussions started along with the number of responses made. It's the quality of the posting. I do remember one time I only posted three responses that were kind of long, & I earned more on that day than on the day before when I posted eleven much smaller responses.
Uh - did I say that sometimes my responses can be long?

I think I got paid even when my number was as low as 300. I have a tendency to hover around discussions, focusing on a few rather than responding to many new ones. I would also leave quality comments on all my responses. As a result, my number next to my name wouldn't go up, but I still got paid for them.
Recently, though, I've noticed that the number next to my name has been going up when I comment on someone else's response. It didn't used to do that. And, I'm also making more new responses than I did before because I don't go back to check on my responses as much because fewer people are commenting on them. So, why waste my time checking on them.

But, I've gotten credit for making comments on responses even though my number has not gone up. That's how I have been able to get paid 3 times even though I have a low number. It doesn't count towards my number, but it counts towards my payment.

I have found over time by playing with the system and reading some other post it is not how many you post it is what you post. I always set a goal for 30-50 post per day. Some days after 20 I could no longer find any good topics or my brain just shut down and nothing appealed to my senses. So, I did a little study and found a very important secret that has been here all along. Now I only post 10 a day and hope to be able to tweak that to less in the days to come. As soon as I have learned the new set-up and what pays the most, I hope to only have to send 5 a day.
My dollar amount was decreasing while I was increasing my number of post, which puzzled me greatly. Now I can double what I was making per for 30 post to just 10 post. I think these people who have played with the system and experimented with it have found the key to posting less, but making more.
I congratulate you on all the post you have, that is phenomenal. I would never be able to think or discuss anything if I had that many. LOL

I wish you could set the example. Your responses are small and not full lines. Your star also is not good representation. I fuss over my 9 also. I have made the point that higher numbers do not necessarily mean that they have earned the maximum and responses don't have to be quality to achieve a number. I appreciate you attending my disccusions. It is encouraging me to try another despite the threat of deletion for no good reason. Censorship at its best. I am not sure I will stick around although if the pay is improving like it appears to be I might stick around a bit longer. I too value the sharing, learning and friends and hope the site can become all it can be and quit with the eye candy and fix the real problems of glitches etc. I hope to see you around and hope that you find the discussions that will inspire you to response and share what all you know with the rest of us. Good luck and good day to you!!

Wow, you've got a high number. I'm trying to work my way up there. I can only log on when I have some free time. I do start discussions sometimes but other times I just read and respond to what interests me. I have made payout one time and I'm working on my second one now. I wish I had a lot more time to put into mylot cause I think it's a great site.

I think it is a great site to and I have gotten a payout every month since the first payday I qualified for. Though the money isnt the most important thing it is another way to keep track and feel good about your time use. Answers was fun but this is better.

I have been here since January and my earnings have fluctuated up and down. they did hit a low for a long time for the same amount of work. I think that was on Mylots end and not on my quality or quantity here. I used to think that I was only earning from responding to others also until here recently, I started posting and responding and replying to others on my discussions I started. It seems to be working out quite well now. I am glad that we are friends here and each of us can help one another in all aspects. I always rate members too and that can surely help along with choosing best responses aslo.

Originally I joined to make a little extra money, and maybe help pay the internet bill each month, but now I seem to spend more time browsing discussions than replying, I find I enjoy the friends here now more than the thought of the money, some of those friends are really good people.

I know that this is probably not related to what you were talking about, but some of us new people, including myself, joined without knowing how to get the higher numbers. I myself like to respond to discussions that interest me, and to every once in a while start a discussion over something that I find interesting. I try to rate all of the comments and responses that I read and always respond to the little bit of comments that are generated from my discussions.
But as a whole I do not get much of a response from my participation as of yet. Although I would like to. It is not all about the money for me on here, even though it would be nice. ;0)

Well I am approaching 500 and presently I am at 465.I hope to make it to 500 maybe tomorrow or next day.I have earned till date about $20 and hope to make it to $35 by the month end.I am looking forward to my first payout by next month.
I am really excited about my reaching 500 posts at myLot.After that I will be able to post images with my responses and also able to paste the responses.I am eagerly waiting for that as I think it will make life somewhat easier at myLot then it is at present. I joined myLot about a month back and in these days it has become an essential part of my life.
