Are Ghosts or Spirits More or Less Active with Stormy Weather???

I ask this question because it is said that spirits or ghosts gain their energy from the air...among other things that does not play part to this question.
But if the air is charged with energy due to a storm, does this help paranormal activity?
But because there is lightening that discharges energy, does this hinder the energy being used and lessen paranormal activity?
If you do not believe in the paranormal, please by pass this discussion because it is not a discussion of, if you believe or not.
When one uses certain logic to explain everything away and is still left with "I can't explain that"...then it is paranormal.
My question is...do storms increase or decrease paranormal activity?

ooohhh this is a tough one...LOL My logic says that spiritual activity would increase during a storm (of any kind really) and the reason I say that is because I know how I PERSONALLY feel physically in body and soul when a storm hits (my triggers aside of course)....Thunder is charging if you get what i mean but lightening is in fact totally electrifying (forgive the pun)....I (and most ppl I know if not all) really do get highly charged up during a storm and the more intense the storm the higher the charge....SOOOOOO logically speaking (my logic which is somewhat twisted and a$$backwards LOL) why would it be any different without body....Also I dont see us (and IMO we are basically spirit in a car [our bodies]) as gaining our energy from the air...our energy just "is" ya know...just like on a HUGE SCALE the universe "just is"...
crap...am I making any sense at all...probably not LOL i just finished my workout and I'm sweaty and stupid(er)....
I'm gonna check otu that link though Zuk after my shower then get back to you two
great topic though!

That does make sense...for both of your responses.
If a person gets excited or scared, they too put energy into the air.
Allowing more activity from it.
And fear is a huge source of energy.
But in my case then...I would probably drain a ghost or spirit...as my body has the opposite effect because of my migraines.
Last night we had one heck of a storm and my body was shutting down because of the pain in my head it was causing. :(
But I do understand both of your points.

I completely agree, I feel so alive in a storm. just pure life in me, like every cell's awake

In my experience, they seem to be around a lot more in a storm than they are the rest of the time, you could normally get one coming to you on a normal day, but on the night of a storm, you might get 3-5ish, so my answer would be increase.
Now i'm not saying this is right, but from what i see on a daily basis, storms really help them. I think it has to do with breaking force fields, and an easier passing through due to electrical pulses, allowing them to come on in.

manzician, if you would have read the discussion, I stated that if you did not believe in the paranormal, then to pass the discussion.
Thanks for taking the time to not read and just gain another post rating.

We are energy beings and energy is left when our bodies decide they are done. The energy in the air, phone lines, etc would enable more paranormal activity. Manmade electricity would be more reliable and longer lasting that nature made storm activity. That at least is what I think about paranormal activity.

Hi there- read the explanation and while it seems logical that the energy transfer would make it easier for spirits to manifest during a storm in my own experience that has not been the case. They have appeared in terms of being visible in calm atmospheres and in daylight, but I've had unpleasant ghostly activity at just about any time when I've been in -I don't like the word haunted in relation to some of these places I've been -I'll just say active- active places. I have a story to tell about spirits and lightening.I am almost reluctant because I never talk much about this event- its almost unbelievable. anyway I grew up in a violent household. and when I was fourteen or fifteen (fifty years ago- gotta forgive me for not being certain which year it was)I was troubled by the fierce fighting between the parents who were downstairs. It was late at night and my sibs were asleep, and I couldn't block the sounds of yelling, insults and threats going on below. I tried praying for them to find peace, and instead, I began to pray to my grandmother with whom I had a special spiritual connection. In my prayer i said I was sorry to be asking for help, but could she being closer to god than I please pray for them to find peace. I was lying on my bed at the time when I felt her voice . It was very sweet. She said I will call them to their senses, don't be afraid. And a white light began to draw itself across my ceiling. It had traveled about four or five feet when I heard the most deafening boom I ever heard or felt. The light, which felt as though her finger was drawing it continued across the ceiling , out of the room and so out of my sight. The others kept on sleeping! But my parents had let out a cry and were racing upstairs. Lightening had struck out house and crossed the ceiling stopping at a light fixture in my brothers' bedroom, bringing down the light to land on their bed. they agreed to check out any damage in the morning when it was daylight- as there was nothing else damaged as far as they could tell. they went downstairs and were somewhat hushed for a very little while, but then, their voices startedt o get sharp and the fight resumed. And there was a louder boom and this time lightening hit the front door and and passed to the back door- making a cross through the house. It twisted the aluminum storm door in such a way that it would never be right again, never close, but after some shakey exchanges about how maybe god is trying to tell them something, the accusations of what god was trying to say turned into who was really at fault and the fight was back on. the lightening hit one more time, and this time it ripped the chimney off the house, tore up a telephone pole at the edge of the yard, and re-entered the house through the original wall - in the bedroom, traveling through my sister's bos springs. Miraculously (or not) not one was hurt. And that third blow did the trick. they stopped fighting, and took steps to make changes in their lives. but I still feel deeply shaken, just remembering that night. there was no storm. But lightening struck out house three times, and before it began she had said, don't be afraid. that's my story. Please don't mock me, its not made up.

I didn't think brokentia would mock me, or you or Zukepr- I just fel tvery vulnerable telling that tale and yet if there was ever a time or place, this seemed to be it. And you're right, she's not ghost-thanks for clarifying, I din't think it but once you said it, it was an obvious distinction. (sigh) thank god for friends. They wipe the drool off your chin without so much as a tsk tsk.

OH MY Arcadian!!!!! That was an AMAZING story!!! Thank you so much for sharing!
I love hearing how our relatives will come back to help us.
It makes it even better when we can share that experience with others that will believe us and not ridicule us.
I believe you sweetie! Thank you so much for taking the time and having the faith to share that with us!!!
Note...Sorry I could not respond sooner...I had food poisoning and was ill for a couple of days. :(

It is very difficult to give a proper answer to your question. If ghost really exist, there is no need of extra energy for them to be active.

It's the RAIN mostly. The water in the air - cause water a contuctor for electricity. That's also why they're more "active" during the very early morning hours - from about midnight to six a.m. So yes they sure are more active then. The more energy the easier it is for them to "communicate".
WOW - you excited me! I actually knew an answer and could hardly wait to finish reading your post - silly me :)

Glad to know this is one that you could answer on. :)
I have said many of times before also that early morning when the moisture is in the air it helps to conduct too. :)

There does seem to be a school of thought that accepts when the barometric pressure falls or rises suddenly then it is possible than more paranormal activity may happen ..
Bug changes in air pressure certainly affect my fibro .. many animals also are sensitive to barometric changes .. so it would surely follow that paranormal activity must be affected by it too ..

That is an interesting question! I would think that the stormy weather would increase paranormal activity. But I am not a researcher into this so I am hardly the definitive answer.
Have you considered contacting some of the ghost hunter type shows and see if the have any thoughts on the subjects?

You know, I have a book somewhere that says that ghostly and spirit activity IS more active during stormy weather, but I can't find the damn book!
It is to do with the energy thats dispelled during storms, lightning in particular - but thats about all I can remember without the book I have. If I find it, I'll flip through it and share with you whats in there.

I would think that with the energy charged atmosphere that they would be more active! After all maybe thats why most non-believers are frightened of storms for no aparent reason and most believer are facinated by it even if they can not sense the spirit conciously their subconcions senses they and makes you excited and facinated... also most ghost stories start with "it was a dark and stormy night" although I could be wrong and it has nothing to do with the spirits... we may never truely know until we become one ourselves

In two incidences, and occurring in a biotech lab in my university, the use of non-thermal plasma ion air filters to de-activate air borne pathogens, actually caused the hauntings experienced by the lab researchers [ who are phd students in biochemistry and microbiology, to disappear. As they cannot "prove" ghosts and spirits, they also cannot "prove" the effect of cold plasma ionization [ micro-oxidation] on the dispersing effect of such ghosts and spirits.
Cold plasma or Blue plasma is the energy from lightning.
I will say that there will be LESS activity in stormy weather. I will also suggest that Non-thermal Plasma devices is also effective in De-haunting of a premise, as the second incident above occurred when the NTP sterilisers were deployed in another lab on loan.
Since they were reinstalled, all has been quiet to date.
