It's because your vocal muscles must be strained. When you sing, don't sing from your throat. You sing from your diaphragm and up.. I suggest you do your breathing exercises first before you start singing. It's what you call 'vocalization'. When you sing, you do not get your power from your throat but from your diaphragm. Always vocalize so that you will increase your breathing. If you lack air, you'll have a hard time. But if your lungs and your diaphragm work together, your voice will become more powerful. You gotta focus on your breathing first. Do not ever drink cold right after singing. Wait for atleast an hour before you do so as not to strain your throat. And don't eat sweets either coz' it may irritate your throat. God bless with your singing.

Since you are new for practice, you may feel so. Take some care for the voice and you will feel better. Put some raisins (dry grapes which we put in sweet keer and payasam)in some water in the night. Next day drink that water and also eat dry grapes. Honey is very good for voice. Take honey with lukewarm water early morning empty stomach. This soothens the throat. You can even add little ghee to lukewarm water and take whenever you have pain in the throat. This also gives relief to your throat. Best of Luck.

it is due to the stress experienced by the muscles as you sing high notes.. the key to that is massage.. massage those parts that you notice are very tense while singing those notes..once they get to relax, then it will be easier for you to reach those parts.. it's just a matter of finding where to get that voice.. add me pls.. thnks

I have heard that if you feel somthing wrong with your throat don't push it , just let it heal and then train again. I have heard that if you strain your vocal chords you can get permanent damage.
