Oh wow, there's a few books that I've started reading but still haven't finished. Some of them have even gotten lost. One of them is this thick book about the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and I haven't finished volume II yet. Another is the purpose driven life. The reason why I haven't finished the latter is that it's too much for me coz I always end up crying after a chapter!

REALLY?!!! Oh man, when year 6 came out I couldn't put it down. I finished reading that in two days coz I have my work in between but if not, I would have finished that in a day. :)

I have never been able to finish Wuthering Heights. The language is just too difficult. I've also tried repeatedly to read Pride and Prejudice, but no dice. I've seen two movie versions, and I've read Sense and Sensibility, so it shouldn't be that hard, but I just can't seem to get through that book.

I know what you mean. After I've seen The Lord of the RIngs, I tried reading the books but when I started reading the first book, I still haven't finished until the second movied showed! :) Thankfully, I was able to finish it, though...I think. ;)

I've tried reading Bleak House by Dickens several times, but haven't got past the first chapter. The writing is so tedious and over-wrought and the sentences are too long. But I find this with most of Dickens books. I only appreciated him as a story-teller, when the BBC dramatised his novels into a series - of course in a dramatisation they don't have the tedious description or long sentences, and what do you know, his stories are really entertaining and compelling. It's a pity his Victorian editors didn't have red pens that crossed out great chunks of the books!

One book that I have never been able to finish is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. I don't know why, but I can't read it. The other that comes to mind is Sarum by Edward Rutherford. I love his books and have started Sarum a number of times - enjoying the first 1/3 of the book, but can't seem to get past that part.

I have started reading The Mansion by William Faulkner like 3 years ago but then put it aside cuz didnt have time, then again loan from library and start reading from begining. And again something distracted me from the book. Then once i saw this book in shop and bought it and again gave it up. So now when i mwriting this i think why oh why.? Probably have to return and finally finish it.

I started reading Stephen King's "Rose Madder" over a year ago and have not finished it yet. I got a few books after I started reading it that seemed more interesting and I just have not gone back to it yet.
