I have had that happen and it really isn't fair but unfortunately it does happen. In my case I feel that they chose a man for the position rather than choose me although I have no proof that this was why they did it. Sometimes we don't know the real reasons, we can only guess. I know it makes us feel bad when they do it though.

My friend same profession like me, that is security, now him carried over better position, now he is my superior.
My friend promotion have twice, while im not longer the than him, i more serious from him.
I work not because of head I work because God, there no head not become reason make me to lazy work.
But why my superior exactly tell i idler. or because i not have education
