I will take the minority view and say that it is one of the best films I've seen this decade. I took it as a commentary on a political world that tightens the noose on people when it could just as easily loosen it. I thought Caine's performance was easily one of his best, he couldn't help stealing the screen from a stiff Clive Owen. The detention camp analogy to our current state of affairs was chilling

I doubt that there would ever be anything that could cause 100% infertility, so the basic premise was completely hoaky. I read the book a few years ago, and though it was well written, and a heck of a lot better than the movie, it wasn't convincing. As for the movie, I was really looking forward to seeing it, and I was completely disappointed. Lots of excellent actors mostly wasted because there was no real character development.

To be honest I dismissed the film because I can't stand Michael Caine and when I saw the preview in the cinema I thought what a boring film and it certainly didn't appeal to me so I gave it the wide berth. I can't see the infertility thing being realistic to be honest, a good idea for a movie possibly at a push but as for happening in the future? in one word No!

I thought it was an amazing film! It's true there wasn't a lot of action, but just the thought that in the future women will not be able to have children is very scary. Think about it, we would not be able to see the sight of little children anymore. This world would be empty without their laughter.
I especially liked the part where the baby and mom are coming out of the building in the middle of the battle and everybody, even the soldiers who are shooting stop. To see the amazement on their faces is just so moving! Also, the sound effects were awesome! It was a good movie to watch! I would recommend it! :)
