I'm getting married in October. My finance and I are paying for everything. Here I am trying to plan the perfect wedding for our budget and he doesn't seem to care. He says" Just let me know when and where to show up". Is this normal?

I don't know really how deep is your relationship, but most couples that came into my shop, they will either come together or the bride and her parents or the bride and the groom's parents.
There was a time the bride came alone and yes there was also a time I had to deal with very organized grooms hahaha I'm like WOW lucky brides, the men do the running around :)
Anyway, as long as there is no friction in your relationship, maybe this is just "man" thing. My husband said that too when I planned my wedding, and so I asked him what needed to be asked and he kept his promise to pay certain percentage of the expense.
I tried to get him involved by asking who he wants to invite, who would he prefer to be usher, best man and what about their gifts and what they would wear, plus of course what beverage and menu for the reception which actually what he was more curious about than anything else.

Maybe he feels like you have it under control. Have you expressed your burdened feeling to him? Maybe he doesn't need it to be as perfect as you feel it needs to be because all he is focused on is the vows and the meaning behind all the location and decorative fluff :)
