If someone truly wants death, should they be allowed their wish?

Suicide is a fact of life, and a sad one at that. I cannot even relate to being that depressed, and my first thought would be that we should help all those who do think this way. But if someone truly wants to die and hates life, should we help them out of this burdened state of mind, or should we let them go? Is it immoral to be suicidal or even immoral to let one do what they choose?

I'm all for helping those in need. I've been to that low point in my life and was very thankful that I had people who cared enough to help me understand what my life is worth. I can't say I don't have "thoughts" from time to time, but having moral support does make a difference. Anytime I hear that someone I know is at their lowest point, I automatically reach out to them and let them know how much they mean to me and others. I feel we SHOULD help one another in a crisis like this. It would be different if they were terminally ill, but they're not and they CAN make it through tough times. I'm living proof.
