Cuba is a communist country and there is no freedom of speech ,and the government has control of everything. IF you protest about anything in Cuba, you end in prision or beaten by a bunch of communist
people who only accept one point of view. In other words socialism or death. I lived in this country and
I left when I was a teenager ,but I can tell that I experienced what it is to live in a communist society, and all I can say is that is not a pretty sight. We are not a Cuban mafia ,but a group of cubans who believe in freedom.

My husband also left Cuba at the age of 19. We are going this July to see his family. i have been married for 11 years and my children have never met their grandparents thanks to Castro and his regime. My husband came by himself, so his entire family is still in Cuba. I get so angry when I read the comments of people glorifying the country, and hoping it stays the same for tourism sake. What about the people who are suffering? I could go on and on, but I think you already know.

Is nice that your children are finally going to see
their grandparents. Those idiots glorifying Fidel are a bunch of ignorant liberals. Is so nice to be communist and live in the United States or Europe. I
wonder is they would feel the same way if they had to live in a communist country and not just be a tourist.

My husband came from Cuba as an 11 yr. old with his younger brother and sister. They were sent to a relocation home until their parents could get out which was 4 years later. He is now 58. I would love to visit and hope to see it become democracy and to open up free trade.

You are right, democracy isn't perfect but it is the best thing we have.

cuba is the mostr populous country country in the carribean. the recorded history of cuba began on 28 october 1492, as much as i know.cuba was a spanish possession for 388 years.ruled by a governor in havana.in october 1959 a man named Castro openly declared himself to be friendly towards communism though he did not yet claim to be a communist himself and the liberal and other anti-communist elements of the government were purged with many who had initially supported the revolution fleeing the country to join the growing exile community in Miami.
the Republic of Cuba is constitutionally defined as the socialist state. no political party is permitted to nominate candidates r campaign on the island.their govt. has been accised of numerous human right abuses.
so thtas all i know. but u must be knowing muc more.

Thank you for your reply. You have a great deal of kwowledge about Cuba. I'm happy to know that you are aware of the human right abuses. Some people pretend that everything is wonderful in Cuba. They travel to Cuba as tourist and they think that everyone in Cuba is very happy ,and they don't know that those people are not allowed to express their real feelings.
