Here's a recipe for an apple pie that you literally bake in a brown bag! I thought it was pretty neat and had to share the idea!!!!!
Brown Bag Apple Pie
Topping:
1 stick margarine, softened
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
Directions:
1. Mix the topping ingredients together. Put into the refrigerator to firm up so that when you put it on the pie it will be crumbly.
Pie:
4-6 apples, cored, peeled, and diced
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 Tbs. flour
Cinnamon (to preferred taste)
Directions:
2. Mix pie ingredients and place into an unbaked deep-dish piecrust.
3. Place topping ingredients on the pie and put into a brown paper bag and seal with paper clips.
4. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

I never heard of that before surely it must be a specially treated bag or it would burn.

No, not at all. Amazingly, the regular brown bags you get your groceries in work perfect!

Brown paper bag cooking is awesome. I do it with turkey and chicken a lot. Sounds off but it really is good. Holds in the flavor in, and what not. Thank you for the recipe though, didn't know about this one. I will try it sometime.

Microwave and oven are different styles of heat though. Honest, it doesn't catch on fire. I've done it!

This sounds really good! I am amazed that you can cook it in the oven for that long without it burning, probably the low temperature. I am going to try this one out! Does it keep the crust from burning?

How novel...does it work? You would think the bag would catch fire, but I guess not. Apple pie being one of my favorites I will have to try this one out...:} Thanks for the share.
