That is a great looking cat!
First of all, HIV is no longer a quick killing disease. Cats and people can live quite a while with it. You just have to be a little more careful about taking care of them. Chances are you will have quite some time together yet.
Second, every pet is going to die (along with all the rest of us!) You just happen to know what your cat will probably die of! You don't even know when, which is true of any pet you would have. So, treat him the same way you would any pet. You never know how long you will have anything or anyone in your life. No one has any guarantees.
Finally, take one day at a time. Cherish each day you have with your friend and don't take him for granted. At the end of each day, give thanks for having him in your life.
I'm speaking from personal experience. Only in this case, it isn't my cat who is ill, it's my husband.
