What is your busiest day of the week?

Currently, I work in an insurance agency while I'm finishing school. For most people that work in offices I know, Friday is the slowest day of the week, and a many leave work early on Fridays. For some reason, in this office, Mondays and Fridays are always the busiest days of the week. I could hardly catch a break. If it weren't for my lunch time, where I could momentarily relax, I think I would go crazy with all the busy-ness. I guess for some reason, people either forget about doing their insurance business until Friday, and then want to get it done before the weekend. Or, they remember to do their insurance busines over the weekend and want to get it over with on Monday before it gets to late in the week. What are the busiest days of the week for you? Does it vary depending on what's going on? Or, are the busy days pretty much set, like in my current work?

I work in an insurance agency too, Fridays and Mondays are the worst. My boss is semi retired and travels alot, and the other person I work with (my mom) isn't there often so I handle it all myself. My absolute favorite is when a mortgage company calls to tell me they are closing tomorrow and need a dec sheet for a policy that hasn't even been written, let alone paid for yet! Why can't they call a week or so in advance so I can get everything done and at least "pend" it so it's not like a Chinese fire drill? I quit going out of my way for them. I don't know why people wait until the last minute. I told my boss I'm going to start staying open until 6pm on Fridays so I don't look forward to leaving at 5pm! I feel ya vebela.

A kindred spirit! I hate it when the title companies and mortgage companies expect us to work miracles like that, especially when they know about close of escrow so far in advance.

I completely understand. I am not too far off removed from my college career, as well. And, I had a lot of friends in engineering. Those engineers had it a lot rougher, in my opinion. Good luck with the rest of college!

actually the busienst day of the week depends on what type of work u do. many companies have different weekly off. so for these companies busiest day will be the day after weekly off. generally busiest day is the day when u have most of the work and u always have most work after the dayof ur weekly of. this is about office busiest day. for family ur busiest day is the day when u have weekly off from ur office bcos u have to complete ur many works that day which u can not complete in running week. also that day ur family expects a lot from u.

I completely agree with your analysis. However, I don't feel like my time with my family is as hectic as my busiest times at work. Even though a lot may be demanded from me from family, I always enjoy and appreciate my time with my family.

That's interesting. Tuesdays are longer days for your most of your clients than Friday. After having all those kids all week long, it must be nice to have Fridays light!

It all depends for me since I am a full time student. Most of the time(for this semester) the busiest day for me is Tues. since that is a Microbiology day and I have two other classes on the same day...feels like it never ends! I don't get home until 10:30pm almost every Tuesday. The one good thing is that Weds. is my one day off so I get to rest a bit after my super busy day.

That's good that you have a day off after your busiest day. But, wow...that Tuesday sounds killer! Good luck finishing the year off!

I think all my days are busy. Mondays are usally the most hectic because we tend to run a lot of errands on the weekend so the housework gets behind. I almost always find myself on Sunday night wishing it were only Saturday night. For me, the busiest day is the last day of the month when I need to have all my state daycare and federal food program paperwork done for my daycare business.

The busiest day is Monday. Our mailroom and data processing area is open on the weekend, and since we are off the work piles up until we comes in Monday.

I work in a legal copy service, obtaining records from different places. We usually are busiest on Monday and Tuesday. This is when most people request records and when we receive most of the records to copy and ship back out. It usually won't spike much. For instance, today is a state holiday, Banks and Courts are closed and since that is a big chunk of the places we deal with, the phones have been fairly quiet on our ends today. Although, that's pretty normal for any Friday...

I see. So, basically the busiest days are early, and dependent on the holidays. Well, I hope you get lots of holidays.

My busiest day this semester is Thursdays. I have office hours at the college from 10-12 noon. I teach a class from 12 noon to 3 PM. I have a meeting from 3-5 PM. It is sooo hectic. I come home beat on Thursdays. Oh well, only 4 more Thursdays and the semester will be over! (well, there is finals week but that is different).

Ahh, the life in academia. I think I would like my schedule changing from semester to semester. I certainly enjoyed it when I was a student! They should do in the business world, as well. It would be nice to change it up once in a while.

My busy days vary with the kids doing different things on different days of the week. It's never the same and so I'm constantly on my toes with them lol. My partner has been working some rather erratic hours recently too, and so I never know what's happening from one day to the next. In between keeping myself available for the kids different activities, I still have to find time to do laundry, housework and cook too, not to mention feed the cat and give her some attention as and when she demands it lol. At least I can say my life is never boring.

I honestly think I would enjoy keeping on my toes like that more than having a set structured schedule that I keep now. I love variety in my life. I'm glad that you have it, and that you sound like you enjoy it!

For me monday is the busiest day for me. Considering that the nature of my business is photo services, and so people who are used to apply on monday being the first day of the week likes to have their ID photos be prepared. we have lots of customers for ID photos especially in the morning

I work in IT-services, mainly system administrative tasks and somehow friday is the busiest day. I think it's because everybody wants to finish early and go home. Then you basicly end up doing your days work in 6 hours;) Mondays are the slowest if there haven't been unsuccesful updates during weekend. Sure, sometimes are spikes and feels like everyday allday is busy, or some days feels like nothing happening.

the busiest day in my work hours is cannot be told or identified.work can come anytime, from anywhere. no one can predict workload coming. although i am from IT i don't have workload nowadays, cause i am at trainee position.currently i work in a insurance agency while i am finishing my school. for most people that work in offices i know friday is the most slowest day of the week, and a money leave work early on fridays. for some reason in this office mondays and fridays are always the busiest days of the week.i could hardly catch the break.if it were not lunch time where i could momentarily relax i think i would go crazy with all the busy-ness.i guess for some reason people either forget about doing their insurance business over the weekend & want to get it done before weekend.or they remember to their insurance business over the weekend and want to get it over with on monday before it get's too late in the week. busiest days' are not in IT industry. any how you get lot of work but that also depends upon the work.

I don't understand why you repeated most of what I said for your response. Is it just to make it longer? Because that's not really nice...

I am working in a call centre for BT. I get off on Sat and Sun. The workload is not much on the first and the last day of the week which is Monday and Friday so, I would say the busiest days of the week would be Tues, Wed, and Thursday for me.

Normally its for us Tuesdays. We have 3 classes the most of the week. Plus one is a evening class. The first class is from 9-9:50, the next 10-11:15. Then a small break. Then back to school 2:30-5. Its a tiring day we always dont get much sleep night before so we are exhausted by time of the last class and wanting to go home. Usually we end up doing our weekly shopping at Wal*Mart. Last week I didnt come home till after 8pm! So its exhausting and defently the most busy day of the week ever.

The busiest day of the week is Friday, it is also the day that I am look up for so that I can take a break after a week. I would want to clear up all my work by the time I break for the weekend so as not to leave any backlog over to the next week.

Wednesday is meeting day so that's the busiest day for me as the entire day is just filled with meetings to attend. The most amount of work usually happens at the end of the month, so whatever day that is will be another day of overtime for sure.
