I joined epinions not that long ago and I have been receiving email notificats of new ratings to my reviews. Today I checked back on them and both have stellar ratings. One is 'Very Helpful' and the other is 'Helpful' ^_^ I'm thinking, "ooh these must be earning something" but lo and behold neither review has earned me jack. o.O Even at helium where the people who rate reviews are terribly biased and rate on the basis of whether they agree and not on the quality (like they're supposed to!) I've earned money.
Here is my profile: http://www.epinions.com/user-joanana
Can someone explain this to me please? Is epinions all that it's cracked up to be or am I just wasting my time?

No, they only deposit the money once a month in the form of "income share". I suspect they will be deposting the promotion money at that same time. Its usually sometime around the 10-12th of the month, give or take.

HKMamma is right. Years ago there used to be instant updates - when someone viewed it, you saw the cash in your account. Then it went to once a day then once a week and now it's once a month and it's been that way for the past two to three years. They do pay though. I've been a member there for a long time :]
Good luck!

I have been a member of Epinions since 1999, and I can tell you that Epinions does pay. Both of the responses above are correct. The payments do not show up in your account immediately so do not worry about that.
As for the promotion, I just checked on that and found that the there is a notice in the member center saying that credit for these reviews should be in your account by tomorrow.
Welcome to Epinions.

What sort of reviews do you write? For what categories I mean. The majority, sans one, are book reviews. So far, aside from the $10 and some change I requested payment for, I've earned another 11 cents. Maybe it has something to do with the categories you're writing in?
