No Sense of Humor?

Lately I have been getting a lot of emails that are joke related. I have to say that I am getting tired of receiving emails that are jokes. Guess I have had my fill of them. There was a time when I would read each and every one of them. But, when you only get jokes from people instead of a note saying hello and asking how you are doing, it leaves a sour note in my mouth. Do you enjoy getting jokes in your email?

I hear what you are saying. My friends know I am on dial up, yet they continue to send me huge power point mails that take 3 days for me to open. I just delete them without even looking. Getting jokes all the time has also started to grate on me.

I have asked my friends not to semd them coz I just toss them. The only time they do send them it is because it is hilarious =)
I am also so fed up with it. If i wanna look at jokes - I will go to a webpage providing just that. When i open my email - i wanna have emails from friends instead of unpersonal jokes =)

Every once in a while I like getting jokes in my emails but if a person is only sending jokes and not having a discussion with me it becomes annoying and I just delete the emails. I would prefer having discussions than to receive jokes, unless it is a good joke. I get too many forwarded emails from friends and some family and I will just delete the email without reading the jokes.

I don't mind getting them once in a while. Some of them are quite humorous. My mother drives me a bit nuts with them. She must send me at least 5 or more a day. Some days I don't bother to look at them, like today. And wouldn't you know it the first thing she says when she comes in the door is "did you get my jokes?" *sigh* So later tonight I guess I'll have to go through the jokes...lol

Oh yea, and there you sit with that look on your face that you know tells all, but you tell her that you did receive them and they were so funny.

there is a friend of mine who is always sending me funny emails or jokes...I love them because I regard them as a relaxing break during the day...and you can see myself smiling and laughing at my pc...very cute image, isn't it? I think this is her way of telling me she is thinking about me, this is her way of telling me "hello , how are you? I hope you can always feel well and happy...and I am here to make you happier and send you a big smile"...sure she succeeds in putting a smile over my face and I thank her for this.

I have friends who send me emails that are jokes that they find very funny. Those I will read. The people who send me back the joke that I send them, well, they get deleted.

I will confess I'm up to my ears with jokes also and I have been just passing them by. I hope I don't loose more points for admitting this. I dropped from a blue star to a red must have been because I gave my opinion, but never the less Yes I'm tired of jokes. Thank You.

I gave you a positive rating. I never give negative to anyone for voicing their opinion. Everyone is entitled.

I enjoy getting jokes in my email. The only problem is what some people think is a funny joke I don't always think as funny. Lately I have been receiving a bit of mature content email jokes but it does not state in the header that it is mature content. I opened one the other day when my son was standing behind me and had to quickly close the window down. I have now warned that person that if they want to send me mature content emails they have to put at least a xxx or something in the header so I know it's not safe to open while children are about.

I know what you mean about the X rated jokes. My grandson often wanders into the computer room when I am reading my email and I have had to drop the screen. He will ask me why I did it and I have to tell him that it was a bad picture that I didn't want to look at either.

I like the joke ones sometimes and some I get are cool photos.
I HATE the ones that are chain letters. You know the 'send this to 9 people and your life will improve"
I hate them and only send them back to the one that sent them. ( It is usually my aunt)
Sometimes I just do not even open them, just delete when I just can not read another one. It would as you said not be so bad if they added a short message from them, or even if they used the BBc to hide the addresses, and deleted some of the other FWDs that have been added along the way!

I delete the chain mail ones too. I am still waiting for the good luck to happen from the first 50 or so that I forwarded!

I think jokes are fun to read, but it seems like I am seeing the same ones over and over from different people and that puts me off a bit. I really wish my friends and relatives would send me more emails about how they're doing and what they've been up to. I would much rather see something meaningful in my inbox than something that I can go online and look up by myself if I wanted to.

I remember a friend of mine requesting more personal mail from me and I started doing so. I no longer forward a joke or any email unless I find it very humorous and worthy of sharing.

I like to get the occasional good joke, but I don't want someone to forward me every single joke they get. Chances are good I already have that joke from another friend! I appreciate the thought, but think long and hard before you send me the joke!

That is what I do now when I get a joke in my email. If I have gotten it before, it is automatically deleted. If I read the first few lines and it doesn't grab my interest, it is deleted too. Not all jokes are meant for everyone. I am selective as to whom receives them.

LOL this is a problem I dealth with just a few months ago ...I emailed all my friends and asked then to refrain form sending me these silly jokes as I can't read them all and I am tired of deleting them ...they were all very gracious about it they all were very happy to do as I asked them to ...as in incircle of friends you tend to recive the same ones aover and over again too so that even makes matters worse ..I don't mind a joke or two through out the day but when you get 20-30 a day thats way too much for anyone to deal with ..plus my time is my valuable to me if I am working productivly on the computer instead of deleting or reading jokes all day ...wow I feel better already ...I was feeling a little guilty about asking my frieds to do that buit now I don't thanks ...I see other feel the same way to so that even makes me feel better about it all too ... :D

There is one person in my friends list that sends the joke that I send to her. I don't send many, only the really funny ones. I wonder if she is really reading them or just forwarding them to the people on her list?

I enjoy then to a point but I simply dont have time for them...especially the ones I have to download. A friend sends me fascinating photos and pictures but it takes me an age to look at them. I rarely get "hello how are you meassages" sadly. If I do get them I always respond immediately. I don't send them now as a rule because I get ignored. I guess we are all very busy doing our own thing.

THe best way to get mail to and from a person is by snail mail. I read every letter receive. I know that people that I send letters to will do the same.

For some of my friends that mostly only send jokes I think that is their way of saying "hi". Also their way of saying they're thinking of me. I know when I'm going through my mailbox and checking the box on which friends to send a joke to, I'm thinking of who will enjoy it and who won't. I enjoy getting jokes. Some of them are really funny!

I think if I was like you and got so many of them, I too would be fed up with them and just delete them. I have a friend in the UK who is constantly sending jokes in emails and now I don't even bother to open them. The other ones that annoy me are the ones with prayers which say I will get my wish the following day, if I pass this on to fifteen more people. I don't believe in passing on these emails so I delete these also.

yap, I enjoy jokes, I have one subscription jokewebmaster, so I have a dose of jokes per day, but if my friends will send me jokes with no personal note, I think its better to slap it back at them and say, like ... Hello, I love your jokes but how about saying hello to me how are yah...

I understand what you mean. If it weren't for jokes I get in mail I wouldn't have anything from my so-called friends. There are a few that actually write to ask how I'm doing, etc. but not many. I've written to many asking to not send me any more unless they're going to include a note to how they're doing, etc.
