Need Advise!! Dogs eyes red

I have a puppy he is about 9-10 months old and this morning his eyes looked kind of odd as the day has progressed his eyes have become very red and look awkward he is also squinting not opening up his eyes as he usually does I have never had this problem before and I really don't know what to do for him has anyone dealt with this problem before the vet is already closed for the weekend is there a homeremedy that I can use till the vet is open? I was wondering if I should use some saline eye drops or vigamox?

Thanks I gave him a bath and rinsed his eyes for a couple of days and it went away just fine thanks

You can try this.
Clean the eye area with a wet cotton ball, try opening his eye and see if their are any visible foreign matter that may be the cause of the redness.
I know this is difficult but you can also try irrigating your dog's through a running water source, a sink faucet for one.
Let us hope for the best.
I don't mean to scare you but eye redness might be an early symptom of an oncoming disease. Pray not! so check for fever. give him some paracetamol if necessary and go to the vet first thing in the
morning.
Hope its nothing serious.
