Crazy baby names why?

I can not understand why people give their children these names that do not make any sense, defy the rules of spelling and phonics and are so hard to pronounce. Why is this? I see parents in their teens and twenties with the same kind of names. I do not understand it

The parents are trying to be unique/creative and fail to realize that they're screwing their kids over.

I especially can't stand when people take a perfectly good name and spell it in a 'unique' way and it ends up being hideuos!!!!
