I think that Chappel is no one to say something of this sort to a player like Sachin Tendulkar. Sachin who is the legend of the game very well knows forhimself that when he has to retire. And even Chappel has to say something then he should not do ti in public. He should doit personally to the concerned person. Just to avoid the controversy.

I dont think so..
Sachin is one of the greatest batsmen in the history of Cricket.. He still has plenty of cricket left in him.. Its just the matter of consistency..
I think that IAN CHAPPELL should rather advise his brother GREG CHAPPELL to retire as a coach from India team. This advice would surely benefit us all, rather that retirement of Sachin..

Did chappel say something like that?If he felt something like that its almsot right..He is no more the sachin before..Even the young unexperienced bowlers of srilanka and bangladesh are getting him out easily with not so dangerous balls..He is lacking the eye movement and the conceltration he used to have lots...But once he retire, there is no one to replace that gap in India and there wont be anyone to fill that gap..There will be huge gap left behind even if someone comes in place of him because its going to make a very huge gigantic gap in the batting line up....

i believe its not only chappell, but most of the country who wants tendulkar to retire.
but in my opinion, no matter who says what, its tendulkar himself who knows when to call it quits. moreover, he is the kind of player who believes in performances rather than reputations.
he is not the youngster he was once. gone through a lot of injury problems lately, which have effected some of his stroke making. but, if he says he has some cricket left in him, i say let him go on. let him show the world that he still has what it takes to be the best.
i am not saying that he has to prove himself all over again, because he has done that time and again and his stats tells us everything.
he has been a humble and a very passionate cricketer all his life and its fitting to this great palyer that we let him choose his perfect farewell!!

I feel he should retire. He should give chance to the youngsters. But chappelle should not have made such comment on sachin.

I also feel the same way. Tendulkar has not performed to his level best which he did in 90s, for the past three years and he has been in the team for his past glories and he should retire from the team with dignity rather than forcing the board to drop him from the team.
