Actually, here in the place where I reside there is a great chance for noise pollution. The sound which irritates me more is the noise from the vehicles. Their sounding the horns annoy me a lot and I even shout at them if the duration of the horn is for long time. I feel that people who are responsible for this noise pollution are to be educated about this and the government also should take the initiative to reduce the pollution

The neighbor's dogs are the one's that annoys me, most of the times they bark in the middle of the night and it wakes me up right there on.
And when I look outside, I see no one there. Makes me want to go out and give them bread with MSG inside, to keep my sleeping more comfortable. Sometimes, you just can't cope up with it..

have you seen the movie "keeping mum" with rowan atkinson. the lead actress there too can't sleep because of their neighbor's dog's barking.. hehe! but i hope you won't resort to the same solution they made. hehehe!

I would have to say one of the worst for me is when someone runs there nails across a chalk board or anything that even sounds remotely like that . It is such a high pitch that I find it hurts my ears .
The other sound that I would say is really bad is when someone is getting sick as I have a weak stomach and it makes me feel like joining them in the bathroom as I know I will be sick if I don't leave the room where I can hear them .

The sound of nails on a blackboard has to be one of the worst sounds I can imagine. It's enough to make you cover your ears to drown out the sound. eeekkk

Any kind of noise on the low-end of the spectrum, especially loud thumping noises like the base of a stereo. I also don't like scratchy noises like someone riding a skateboard over asphalt. Finally, I don't like noises that sound like banging or dropping things. Those drive me nuts.

Aside from the obvious noises that everyone hates and has already listed here, I have to say I cringe at the sound of cars screeching brakes and colliding. Even though I love my kids and did well when they were small, the sound of a baby screaming in a public place really bothers me. Not only is it irritating, it just makes me feel sad for the little one and sorry for the parent who has to face the public embarassment. This goes for newborns or two year old having a tantrum at the check out because they are tired. Poor kids. The sound of a parent bawling out their kids in public also makes me really angry. I often feel like I want to go and set the parent right. My philosophy was to at least sttempt to get the kids into the privacy of the car before I tried to talk to them about their behavior.

yeah! that irritates me too! and you're correct! i'm really fortunate to have parents that treat us that way.. although i can't remember throwing tantrums in public. i'm now thinking how my parents managed to train us that way..
thanks for the response!
