I have recieve an e-mail about this, and it is stated as follows.....
Many are unaware of poisoning caused by re-using plastic bottles.
Some of you maybe in the habit of using and re-using disposable mineral water bottles, keeping them in your car at work. Not a good idea.
It happened in Dubai, when a 12 year old died after long usage(16 months) of SAFA mineral water bottle,as she used to carry the same fancy(painted by herself) to her school daily.
In a nutshell, the plastic(called polyethylene terephthalate or PET) used in these bottles contains a potentially carcinogenic element (something called diethylyhydroxilamine or DEHA). Bottles are safe for one-time use,if you must keep them longer,it should be or no more than a few days, week max,and keep them away from heat as well.Repeated washing and rinsing can cause the plastic to break down and the carcinogens(cancer causing chemical agents) can leak into the water that YOU are drinking.Better to invest in water bottles that are really meant for multiple uses.
This is not something we should be crimping on.Those of you with family-do please advice them, especially children.
PREVENTION is better than CURE.
What do you think guys?

You are absolutely right.I was using these bottles for storing water for drinking. But i was much aware as the caution is the bottle read " please crush the bottle after use" but i just ignore and keep on using it.One day a friend of mine explained me the hazards which could cause us by storing the water in those use and throw bottles.I then stopped using that. But you have provided more information in this and thanks for writing this in mylot which will benefit all.

Thank you so much for posting this. I have been using the same bottle over and over at the gym. I will spread the word to my friends who do the same. Of course prevention is better than cure and thanks a lot you may have saved my life and others!

Hello. You know I have heard debates on the issues concerning the reuse of plastic bottles. I have not had the time to look up on this. I am extremely grateful to come across your post. Thank you. This is a timely awakening. If you dont mind, may I ask for the website or email too? I would like to learn more about this isssue. Thank you and happy posting!
P.S. How do I give you my email? I don't like to post it here. I'm a newbie and I still havent gotten the ropes right so to speak. Do I need to add you as a friend? I wouldn't mind doing that, would you?
