Tony Blair takes his favourite chair
and looks back into the past
To a sea of smiling yes men
and a puddle of a cast.
The players on the world stage
conform to what's expected
They do it for money boy,
never mind the unelected.
And why oh why, when it's obvious,
that doing good comes cheapest
For best effect we send in the clowns
of the Diplomatic Service.
And while they stamp their feet and haggle,
the best result..... sabotaged
the Generals thump on war tables
over plans...
four or more years advanced.
Yet he saw it coming and gambled
just never believing they would
send shock and awe... to light the nights
like downtown Hollywood
And now his Sons are dead
the dynasty polarded
And pride must bend.. to relieve his bowels
while watched and securely guarded.
From Palace to Palace across the land
over thousands of miles he ruled
Yet such an iron will and heart of stone
he couldn't defend the crude
We'll never know the inside,
we'll never really know why
America wouldn't just buy the oil
He and his sons had to die.
They say he had plans to attack them,
they say he was killing his own
They say he's had help in dark places
kept the size of the threat overblown.
And so when the story is written
and counted in money and men
For the sake of one man if it wasn't the oil
you can bet it can happen again
Yet we keep on voting
as if good comes of that
believing the newspaper lies
and we call it our freedom
defend it with pride
forgetting to ask
why have so many have died.
Forgetting to ask where the guard was
why the signings that scupper the Bill
Forgetting the votes found in garbage
denying there's any to do...
Its all a National Secret
and not to be questioned by me or by you.
Oh Lawdy they must be so tired,
They've worked so hard in our cause
Cheney and Rumsfeld Bush Blair and Wolfie
I'd like to string 'em up by their balls!
