Because we are the egg carrying half of the species. If the men were to be the one to give birth won't they be called "women" and won't women be called the "men"? If both men and women gave birth, then they'll not be any gender differences. I think we can term ourselves as reproducing asexually. Then everyone will be looking exactly the same because we are all just the exact same copies of our parent. Perhaps we can be just one gender. To reproduce, some of us will turn suddenly "male" to copulate with the "female". Then later the said "male" changes back to female.

I know agree and also question it - why wasnt done so it cld be that men and women were made to hold child?
