I was wondering, most of the times that I met girls, I was the one to make the first move, so does it always have to be the guy who needs to make the first move or not?

heck no, i made the first move SO many times. guys actually tend to LIKE girls with enough gaul to go up to a man and tell him she is interested. it's a confidence thing, and we all know men like a woman with confidence.

Hmm.. what to expect? Girls will expect man will make the first move. But these days, women are more courageous than before.. Some of my girlfriends, they make the first move by asking the guys out. Some are accepted (the guys are actually too shy to make the move... anyway they are happily ever after now..) but some are rejected. I have respect for these girls.. they are not afraid of rejection...

As a girl.. I believe it's better that the guy makes the first move... girls hate to be rejected but guys are used to it :p

not really. not the case with me and my husband. in ancient time, woman can wait till the man approached her (or hit her on the head!) but now, with people moving fast, you'll just have to grab whatever chance you have. some men might feel threatened, but that is just the proof that he might meant to be for the girl at all. maybe you should hint the girl that u want her to start first....have an indirect discussion...let her decide on certain things..

I think the guy always having to make the first move is getting a bit old fashioned. In quite a few instances in life now days, women want to be treated as equals, so why don't more of them make the first move in dating circles?

I will only make the first move if i know the guy is into me too. But i have made the first move on guys before even though they hadn't had a thing for me yet. I wasn't rejected. Maybe only once.

It doesn't have to be know, but a lot of girls feel strange making the first move because they aren't sure if it's wanted, or what the reaction will be. Having the guy make the first move lets the girl know that he really does want her. It's a security thing, and a way to stop themselves feeling foolish. Guys may feel this way too, but girls are more likely to do and say nothing, than act on a whim.
