Face it, we all feel sleepy the moment we enter the office premises. But what if your boss caught you sleeping at your desk? Here is what you can tell him:
• "They told me at the blood bank this might happen."
• "This is just a 15 minute power-nap as described in that time management course you sent me."
• "Whew! Guess I left the top off the White-Out You probably got here just in time!"
• "I wasn't sleeping! I was meditating on the mission statement and envisioning a new paradigm."
• "I was testing my keyboard for drool resistance."
• "I was doing Yoga exercises to relieve work-related stress."
• "Damn! Why did you interrupt me? I had almost figured out a solution to our biggest problem."
• "The coffee machine is broken..."
• "Someone must've put decaf in the wrong pot..."

HAHAHA!!! I love the blood bank excuse and the one about meditating on the mission statement! I'll have to remember those! Of course I never fall asleep with students at the hospital, but those darned 'office hours' that I have to keep...they are killer! I have to sit in my office for a total of 5 hours per week, in case a student wants to come and discuss something. The students seldom come by, which leaves me sitting there bored to tears, needing toothpicks for my eyelids!

I recommend you bring a good book, or bring your laptop and write down your thoughts . . .

I need not give any lame excuses for sleeping onthe desk. If my boss see me dozing on the desk, he will direct me to rest room.

I would like to share, definitely, sometimes one feel enough laziness that would turn into a little sleep. If I am caught slept at the work place I will clearly tell the truth or reason. Plainly, if there is no certain reason, would be better to have half day off leave rather to make some wrong statement. Lame excuses seldom be accepted and defended. Thanks
