when i was young, i never really had a dream. i just wanted to be like my aunt who has a high paying job she got from getting computer science as her course. now, i am a college student and destiny did not take me to that field of choice. it lead me to the field where i think i truly belong. i am now a journalism major. i love being in this field but some times, some things, i just don't understand why some people just have to say to me and convince me that i have to sacrifice and give up my dream to help others especially me family and relatives. they say, that they need my help and so i have to change course, i have to shift to a more better paying job. financial has always been a problem. i just wish that if that kind of problem does not exist, then all of us will have our dreams holding into our hands.

When I was a kid. This might sound crazy but I don't want to be anyone. I just want to be a kid always. But of course, it's impossible! Anyways, when I was in elementary, I want to be a doctor just like my father. I really admire the occupation of my dad that time because I just thought that it must be cool to heal the sick. But now I'm in high school, I was really engaged and became hooked to computers so my dream finally changed! Right now, my dream is to create a video game - written and produced by me. I also want to be a musician because I'm a total music lover. I compose songs so I'm also planning to be a composer someday.

I wanted to be a sailor ( navy ) but alas my being deaf is what stopped me getting in. So i became a plumber instead, but i agree with you in the fact that 1st choice does play a role in your life, for me it's travel and i cant do enuff of it. I have travelled quite a bit in Australia and am saving to go overseas in the next year or so.
I have to say though, when i was young at school the choices you were told for a career werent that exciting, for instance if they told me i could have got a job as a helicopter pilot or a finance guru ect i might have stayed on and gone to uni.
But like yourself im makin money and paying the bills so no use complaining.
Well done to you for thinking of your family 1st, i hope they remember and do the same for you later in life.

When I was kid I grew up taller then all of my friend and I decided to be a catwalk model. But things changed, I never grew up taller again and my height is not fit to be a catwalk model, so ended up working in a hotel which I loved so much now

I wanted to be a fashion designer in my teens. I could draw very well, but it didn't work out. I think the silliest thing I wanted to be was in the 6th grade I wanted to be a baton twirler for a marching band. I even took baton twirling during the summer at school summer program. I was very good, but I don't think there are any good opportunities for that, LOL. Now, I just want to be a good person, loved by many, mostly my daughter and husband.

When i was young i wanted to be so many things. Whenever i watched a cop show i would want to be a cop. Or if it is ally mcbeal i wanted to be a lawyer. Now comes Grey's Anatomy and i want to be a doctor. sadly i have chose to become an accountant. I can't back time. so i'll have to live with my chosen major and be the best in it.

Me? I wanted to be a vet. I used to watch the Animal Planet all day, and stare in wonder at everything that crept across my skin. =P

I can still remember when i was in kindergarten, my greatest dream was to become a successful nurse like my mother. I still had that dream even when i reached my high school but when i started my college. Instead of proceeding to nursing, i studied a business course because i was discourage by my cousins who were also nurses not to become like them. i was weak as to my decision so then i studied marketing. But because of my strong passion for nursing. After i graduated from my four year course, i preceed with nursing and luckily i did graduate last 2006 and even past my local licensure exam the same year. Right now being a full pledge nurse, i can say that having a goal in life is never impossible for as long you work hard to achieve it. I do have a lot of dreams in life and i do take one step at a time and soon i know all will come true. Presently im reviewing again for the state board exam for US coz its also my dream to work there of course being a nurse.

When I was 10 yrs old we had to do this thing for school and write down what we wanted to be doing in the year we would be like 30 yrs old. *L*
I had such big dreams never thought out. I promise you this. I wanted to be a teacher for handicappted kids, a vet on the weekend, write and illustrate my own books, be a wife and a mother of 4 kids! *L* ALL at once! Can you imagine?
Now I know teacher is at least 6 yrs of school, vet at least 8. So I'd be in school in my 30's still. Marriage, kids, and writer/illustrator wow.
As I got older I realized writer still, teacher yes.
I graduated high school, I tried out doing teacher major. Then realized I loved kids but not want to teach them! Changed majors. Still am a writer. Now a degree in communications for a writer. Its the ONLY thing that stuck from all that minus wanting to marry and have kids (still do one day!)

Oh gosh. When I was a kid I'd had my whole life planned out... It was quite funny really, because I was maybe five or six years old and going around saying how I was going to live when I was "all grown up". I told my mom that I was going to get married, have a kid, and then divorce my husband and keep the kid and then move back in with my parents... *laughs* I had planned, along with raising this daughter, that I would be a vet, a chef, an astronaut, a ballerina, and more all at the same time. It's funny the things I thought I could and would do when I was a kid.
