Recycled waste/sewarage water....yeah you read it right..A few countries are actually considering it.Its a good idea to help save water but how many of us would consider drinking it? Can we trust our water suppliers to provide us with clean water?

Back in the late 70's, my science class took a field trip to a brand-new sewage treatment plant. It was state of the art for its time, and featured something I think they called a tertiary water recovery system. It used standard treatment followed by electrolysis ( or something like it) to make the water "cleaner than its been since the molecules were formed". At the end of the tour, the guide dipped a glass of water right out of the discharge tank, held it up to the light, and then took a long drink. We all screamed and were grossed out. At the time, the treated water was still deemed nonpotable, and was discharged into the local watershed. The notion of drinking the water in that plant made me naseous then, and it still makes me slightly ill. Scientifically, I'm sure the water is fine. I just can't get past the asthetics!

oh gosh i bet it would have made me nauseous as well! the thought of it makes me gag! lol im sure it would be drinkable but the only thing that plays on my mind is maintenance. What happens when the maintenance is not up to par. As it is i am getting dirty water supplied to my home! ewwwwwwwwwwww...
