OK, I have several friends who have dogs, and like most people they work during the day thus leaving there beloved pet home alone all day. Now all these friends leave the television on for there dogs, and all leave Animal Planet Networkm as the choice programming.
Why?
I had a dog once and he couldnt care less about whats on television..although he did bark and growl at Rosie, and he got a treat for that, but thats another topic... So are you one of those peeps who leave Animal Planet on for your dog as if he's gonna really watch it and wait for his/her favorite show to come on?

My dog enjoys watching snoopy cartoons on t.v, or listening to the dave matthews band.

I leave the TV (animal planet sometimes) on for the dogs also. I don't know if it helps or not. But when a dog is a puppy and its crying alot when its alone when you first get it, it is common knowledge to give it a radio or a ticking clock So I just figure the noise from the TV may help keep them company. And if not atleast I have alittle light to see by when I come home a nighttime.

I seems that more and more people are attributing human traits to animals. I don't own a dog so I don't know if it would keep it occupied while the owner is away.
Now that I think of it, it's probably boring as hell for a dog to be locked up in a quiet house. So it might do some good.

I have to say, that's kinda weird, even for ME.
I only put a specific animal show on for my dogs if i wanna get them riled up, because whenever they hear the sound of birds, they go nutz, barking and bouncing, but not the birds outside, just on this nature sounds channel.
Idiot animals.
